Event: Youth Shooting Booth at the Turners Sports Fair, Raahauge Shooting Range.
Mission: Teach children and first time shooters how to shoot in a safe, fun shooting environment, with quality shooting instructors.
Partners: Appleseed, CALGUNS.Net, CRPA, NRA, Turner’s Outdoorsman.
Gear: Ruger 10/22’s with Nikon Red Dots and S&W MP15-22’s with Nikon Red Dots.
Outcome Summary: 1000 Children and first time shooters were given basic instruction on how to shoot a 22lr rifle.
Fun facts:
- Age of youngest shooter was 3 years old; we had several 3 and 4 year olds.
- Age of oldest shooter was 73; she wished she hadn’t waited so long to shoot a gun.
- A 3 year old girl aimed and scored 9 bulls eye hits with the 10th shoot nicking the bulls eye ring so, 10 for 10 bulls eye hits at 25 yards, three years old, first time shooter, her parents where extremely happy.
